The Terrace at Ivey Acres, now open in Jay, Fla., offers a home away from home for its residents.
The assisted living facility opened Oct. 11, and administrator Lonette Bentley said she hopes anyone who has not visited the facility will stop by and take a tour.
“The Terrace focuses on providing care while preserving each resident with dignity,” Bentley said. “We encourage independence in our residents and best of all, freedom of choice.”
The Terrace at Ivey Acres is locally owned and will have a grand opening on Tuesday. The facility is located at 3964 Florida Ave. and has 57 rooms and is licensed for 70 residents.
“We respect the privacy of our residents and meet with each one and their family before they move in, and at regular intervals,” Bentley said. “It will be like living in a country home surrounded by Mother Nature’s best.”
According to the Terrace’s brochure, each resident will be individually provided with what they need  in the way of amenities and well being. They offer three home-cooked meals a day; 24-hour nutritious snacks; weekly housekeeping; laundry service; social, recreational. spiritual and educational  activities; transportation to nearby hospital and shops and special events; around-the-clock emergency call response system; regular health assessments; all utilities (except telephone); an on-site beauty salon; video surveillance and many other amenities.
“Our staff is screened, selected and properly trained to provide our residents with professional services,” Bentley said. “We also provide assistance with medications, personal hygiene and night-time care.”
