Robert Michael Massingill

Mr. Robert Michael Massingill, 55, of Jean Drive passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 in a Pensacola, Fla., healthcare facility after a brief illness.

He was a native and lifelong resident of the Brewton area.  He was a U.S. Army veteran and served as a corrections officer at Fountain Correction Facility for 25 years and was of the Pentecostal faith He was preceded in death by his parents, Audry Harold and Geraldine Massingill; a brother, Edward Massingill; and a sister, Bobbie Jean Donaldson.

He is survived by a son, Robert Harold Massingill of Mobile; two daughters, Lydia (Michael) Olivier of Grovetown, Ga., and Charity Massingill of Bay Minette; one brother, Steve (Tanya) Massingill of Brewton; three sisters, Faye (Buster) Jackson of Brewton, Debbie Marshall of Atmore, and Louise (Danny) Joyner of Brewton; three grandchildren, Kayleigh Olivier, Meghan Olivier, and Brady Olivier.

Visitation will be held at Craver’s Funeral Home Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011 from 1 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. Services will be held from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Rev. Kris Thomas officiating.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.
