King received the Unsung Hero of the Year Award. This award is presented to the employee who has shown behind the scenes support in the areas of reporting, administration or marketing. King was recognized after the Gulf Coast Oil Spill.
“Being recognized as doing a good job gives anyone a sense of pride, I am very pleased to know that people I work with feel that I do a good job,” said King after receiving the award. “It reminds me why I am here – to help the folks I work with and for.”
The award recipients were announced in their respective categories after being nominated by their fellow ATN employees and selected by an independent pane of judges. The honorees were presented with a plaque by ATM president, Dr. Mike Bailey during the luncheon.
