WSN boys basketball falls to West Florida

Playing in the Flomaton High School Thanksgiving tournament Monday night, the W.S. Neal varsity Eagles lost to West Florida 47-30 to fall to 0-3 this season.
The Eagles of East Brewton were outscored 12-3 in the first quarter to fall behind early by nine points. In the second quarter, West Florida outscored the Eagles 17-9 to hold a 17-point advantage over the Eagles at the half, 29-12.
In the third quarter, W.S. Neal was able to cut into the West Florida lead by five points as they held a 15-10 advantage in the quarter to cut the lead to 12 points heading into the fourth quarter, 39-27.
In the fourth, W.S. Neal was once again held to three points while West Florida scored eight to get the win by 17, 47-30.
Jalen Harrod led the Eagles with 11 points in the loss and one rebound.
W.S. Neal was set to take on the Flomaton/Excel loser Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. back in Flomaton.
Following the Thanksgiving break, the Eagles will return to action Tuesday at home as they take on Flomaton. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. in East Brewton.
