Mrs. Cecilia M. Kent, 61, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 in a  local hospital. She was a native and resident of the Century-Flomaton area and had been a longtime resident of Menlo, Ga., before returning to the Brewton area four years ago. She had worked as a kindergarten teacher for a number of years. She was a member of the Alpine Community Church in Menlo, Ga.
She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, James A. Foster, and a nephew, James A. Foster Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ronnie D. Kent of Brewton; a sister, Marilyn Foster of Brantley; a brother-in-law, Jerry (Gloria) Kent of Brewton; two sisters-in-law, Jean Wilson of Atmore, AL, and Bonnie Shiver of Satsuma; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 4. at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Brother Tommy Pledger and Brother Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial followed in Catawba Springs Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
