Mary Odom Grissett

Mrs. Mary Odom Grissett, 94, died Monday, Dec. 12. 2011, at 8:48 p.m. at her daughter’s home in Semmes, after an extended illness.
She was a native of Pineview and a lifetime resident of Barnett Crossroads. She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. ‘Bill’ Grissett; an infant son, Donald Gray Grissett; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Joyner Grissett.
She is survived by four children, Mary E. (George) Morgan of Semmes, Jerald E. (Jerry) Grissett and Nancy C. (MacArthur) Davis of Barnett Crossroads and William C. Grissett of  Atmore; one brother, James Bennett (Jim) Odom; eleven grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 16, at Craver’s Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. with Brother Clyde Bruley officiating. Burial will be in Cannan Freewill Baptist Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
Paulbearers were her grandsons.
