A Brewton man was arrested Thursday after officers with three law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at a residence in Blueberry Hill Trailer Park. The search turned up what officers identified as a meth lab.

Gregory Schultz was arrested in connection with an investigation at trailer park according to Sgt. Andrew Casey.

On Dec. 14, agents with the Brewton Police Department Narcotics Division, Brewton Police Department Special Response Team and the 21^st Judicial Drug Task Force executed two search warrants in connection with an investigation into illegal drug activity at two residences at the trailer park on U.S. 31 North.

“Officers located a methamphetamine lab in one mobile home,” Casey said. “The trailer was not occupied at the time of the search warrant.”

Casey said officers found Schultz in an adjacent mobile home, which was also searched at that time.

“After a short standoff, officers were able to coax Schultz out of his trailer,” Casey said. “He admitted to officers that he had flushed evidence down the toilet upon seeing them approaching.”

Schultz was arrested and charged with first-degree unlawful manufacturing and tampering with evident. He was also charged with second-degree unlawful manufacturing in a separate incidence.

“We believe there will be more arrests in this case,” Casey said. “Agents are continuing to investigate at the scene where the met lab was discovered.”
