Larry ‘Red’ Jones

Mr. Larry ‘Red’ Jones, 57, was a lifelong resident of Brewton. He attended Southern Normal  and Booker T. Washington Schools. He was an employee of Brewton Iron Works for more than 30 years and was a backyard mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Carrie Jones Sr.; a sister, Frances E. Williams; two brothers Eddie Jones Jr. and Johnny Marshall.
He is survived by a special companion, Dora Stallworth; seven children, Monica (Jerry Stallworth) Jones and Avah and Adrian Jones, of Brewton, Misty, Marcy and Mandy Sanders of Castleberry, and Shamel (Romar) Freeland of Century, Fla.; five sisters, JoAnn (William) Jones, Caroline Jones, Lillian (Woody) Nettles, Alline (Marlin) Manuel and Geraldine Burns; four brothers, Lorenzo (Susie) Jones, Robert Jones, Ervie Lee (Linda) Jones and Ronnie (Sharon) Collins; four grandchildren; and many other friends and family members.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at Baptist Hill Baptist Church  with the Rev. SD Drakeford officiating. Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
