In their first game since Dec. 10, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team lost a 13-point decision to the Southern Union Bison Friday at home 70-57.

“We beat ourselves,” JDCC head coach Allen Gainer said. “We didn’t take smart shots. We turned the ball over. We didn’t run back on defense. I don’t know how many points they made on breakaway lay ups. We had our post players shooting 3s and our guards trying to post up. We just looked like the first game coming back after Christmas. We didn’t play smart and we didn’t play very hard.”
Brandon Scott led the Warhawks in the loss with 18 points and Gabriel Rice added 13 points. Turmonte Ragland added nine points in the loss and Larel Jackson chipped in seven points.
D.J. Jackson had five points and Sherman Presswood had four. Greg Crum had one point in the loss for the Warhawks.
