There’s a new look to McDonald’s of Brewton. Gone are the playground, the red and white colors, and the old arches. In their place is a newly remodeled building with a more modern look.
Owners Mike and Toni Dorso, decided in the fall to renovate and give the business an update, making it a more modern and pleasant way to eat a meal.
“We were able to do it without much disturbance for our customers,” Mike Dorso said. “We closed for about a week to finish the inside. This building has been here since 1984 and we thought it was time to give it an update.”
The Dorsos have made it one of their priorities since they came to Brewton, to listen to the needs of the community.
“We appreciate our customers and get involved in the community in any way that we can,” said Dorso. “We have scheduled some really good specials all through the month of January. From $1 hotcakes, 49 cents hamburgers, Happy Meals for $1.99 and Quarter Pounders, two for $4.”
Wal-Mart employees are invited to come in on Jan. 15 and Jan. 29, and receive 10 percent off from 5 to 8 p.m. Teachers will receive an extra value meal from 5 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 27 by showing their teacher ID.
On Jan. 21, Ronald McDonald will stop by from 1 to 3 p.m. with prizes and giveaways. At 3 p.m. there will be a drawing for a boy’s and girl’s bike, along with a live radio remote. Pick up an entry form at McDonald’s.
“We have some really good deals for our customers,” Dorso said. The people of the Brewton area have always been good to us and we believe that we need to give back. From the new front all the way to the bathrooms have all been updated. We have installed a new machine that is for the specialty drinks that we now offer and we have installed two 50 inch televisions for the customer’s to enjoy. One of the new features is the community table. It was supposed to be nine feet long and bar height. When it got here, part of it was much lower. I thought it was a bad mistake, but I have been surprised to see that the community table is very popular. We also opened up the area, tearing down some walls. It looks much bigger now and we have added a couple of new handicap parking spaces closer to the door. I think that we have brought Brewton McDonald’s out of the past and into the future.”
