The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team saw their two-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday in Selma as they lost their first conference game of the season to Wallace State 46-45.
The Warhawks led 30-26 after the first half but was outscored 20-15 in the second half and fell to a game winning shot with 1.1 seconds to lose by one point. The loss drops the Warhawks to 8-6 overall and to 2-1 in conference play.
Brandon Scott led the Warhawks with 14 points and Turmonte Ragland added 11.
Larel Jackson chipped in seven points and D.J. Jackson added five in the loss.
Malcolm Bell, Greg Crum, Sherman Presswood and Gabriel Rice all had two points each for the Warhawks.
Ragland finished with a double-double as he had 11 rebounds in the loss including seven on the defensive side.
Larel Jackson had five assists and Rice had two blocks. Larel Jackson and Ragland led with three steals each.
The Warhawks shot 32 percent from the field in the loss (19-for-60) and was 2-for-12 from the 3-point area for 17 percent.
JDCC was 5-for-10 from the free throw line for 50 percent.
JDCC is scheduled to play at Chattahoochee Valley in Phenix City Thursday at 6 p.m.
The Warhawks will return home Monday, Jan. 23 when they take on Enterprise. Game time is set for 7 p.m. in Brewton.
Both games are conference games for the Warhawks.
