TRM math team takes top spot in tourney at JDCC

T.R. Miller High School's math team took the first place position during Thursday's Math Tournament held at Jefferson Davis Community College.

Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton hosted the 27th annual math tournament Thursday and T.R. Miller took first place.
T.R. Miller took first place out of eight schools competing in the tournament. Flomaton placed second followed by Northview and Sparta Academy from Evergreen placing fourth.
Other schools participating were Atmore Christian, Escambia Academy, Escambia County, and W.S. Neal.
The tournament had 155 students participating in the annual event with Katie Baggett of T.R. Miller earning the Mike Tedder award for top overall student. Baggett made a 24-of-35 in the competition.
Other top-10 finishers included: No. 10 – Matt Pendergrass of T.R. Miller; No. 9 – Ryan Garmeson of T.R. Miller; No. 8 – Tyler Smith of Flomaton; No. 7 – Bryan Ross of Northview; No. 6 – Cody Chance of Flomaton; No. 5 – Malik Leach of T.R. Miller; No. 4 – Wes Maddox of T.R. Miller; No. 3 – John West of T.R. Miller; No. 2 – Ashley Daughterty of T.R. Miller; and No. 1 – Katie Baggett of T.R. Miller.
