TRM basketball falls at Bayside Saturday

In their final area games of the season Saturday in Daphne against the Bayside Academy Admirals, both the T.R. Miller Lady and varsity Tiger basketball teams fell.
The Lady Tigers lost 47-29 while the varsity Tigers dropped a 48-26 decision.
The loss for the Lady Tigers made their overall record 13-8 and finished them 6-2 in area play. The loss also ended their five-game winning streak. The varsity loss dropped the Tigers of Brewton to 7-11 overall and finished them 2-6 in area play. The loss increased their losing streak to three games.
The Lady Tigers shot 2-for-32 from the 3-point line in the loss as they finished second in the area and will face Bayside Academy in a rematch in the area tournament.
The varsity loss finished the Tigers fourth in area play and set up a match with Excel in the first round of the area tournament at Clarke County High School.
There was no B-team game Saturday.
All T.R. Miller teams were scheduled to be back in action Monday at Andalusia before finishing their regular season at home Friday night at home against Hillcrest.
All games are scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Bayside Academy 47, TRM Lady Tigers 29
The T.R. Miller Lady Tigers had a rough start and ending to their game Saturday against Bayside Academy as they lost by 18 points, 47-29.
The Lady Tigers were outscored 13-5 in the first quarter and 15-8 in the fourth quarter. T.R. Miller was outscored 9-7 in the second and 10-9 in the third quarter.
Following the 13-5 advantage for Bayside in the first quarter, the Admirals increased their lead to 22-12 at the half. In the third quarter, Bayside outscored T.R. Miller 10-9 to increase their lead to 32-21 heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, T.R. Miller was outscored by seven to lose by 18 points.
Leah Brundidge led the Lady Tigers with 25 points in the loss followed by Taylor Guthrie with three points and LaTeysia Montgomery with one.

Bayside Academy 48, TRM varsity Tigers 26
Bayside Academy jumped on the T.R. Miller varsity Tigers early to help lead the way to a 22-point win Saturday, 48-26.
Bayside led T.R. Miller 10-1 after the first quarter before increasing their lead to 24-5 at the half following a 14-4 advantage in the second quarter.
T.R. Miller outscored Bayside 12-11 in the third to cut the lead to 35-17 but was outscored 13-9 in the fourth as Bayside earned the win.
Darrion Salter led T.R. Miller with 11 points and was followed by Marc Edge with five points, Mark Bryant with four and Marquese Thomas, Kameron Winn and Caleb Dickey all with two points each.
