WSN Lady Eagle basketball season ends in area tourney

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagle basketball team saw their season end Monday in the first round of their area tournament in Jackson.
The Lady Eagles ended their season with a 4-19 record as they lost to Hillcrest 47-36.
W.S. Neal missed 16 free throws in the game which head coach Kason Whitten said was the difference in the game.
W.S. Neal was outscored 15-2 in the first quarter and was outscored 12-9 in the second to trail at halftime by 16 points, 27-11.
In the third quarter, the Jaguars of Hillcrest edged out the Lady Eagles 15-11 to increase their lead to 42-22 heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, W.S. Neal rallied with a 14-5 advantage but could not overcome their early deficit as they lost by 11.
KeKe Floyd led the Lady Eagles with 19 points.
Tuesday at Hillcrest, the W.S. Neal varsity Eagle basketball team saw their season end with a 99-38 loss to Thomasville in their area tournament. The loss for the Eagles ended their season with a 3-23 record.
