Earl Louis Sadler

Mr. Earl Louis ‘Unk’ Sadler, 89, of Mason Mill Pond Road, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 in a local hospital. He was a native of Ione, Calf., and a resident of the Brewton area for the past 20 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps.; had worked as a field serviceman for a bus manufacturing company; was a 3rd degree Master Mason and a member of Dogwood Hills Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by a son, Shelby Hodge; a daughter, Glenda Sadler; a grandson, Kelly Sadler, and a brother, Claude Sadler.
He is survived by his wife, Ethelene Mancil Sadler of Brewton; three sons, Michael (Debbie) Hodge of Ridgeland, S.C., Alan (Marlene) Sadler of Brea, Calif., and Jim (Linda) Sadler of Atwater, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Carol (John) Sanders of Ponte Vera Beach, Fla., and Rebecca Presley of Atmore; a brother, Donald (Norma) Sadler of Portland, Ore.; two sisters-in-law, Faye Tolbert of Gainsville, Ga., and Myrtice Rowell of Brunswick, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of other family relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Quick and the Rev. Bryan Garrett officiating. Burial, with military honors, followed at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Castleberry with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
