A Saturday night shooting has investigators with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department busy trying to unravel the facts in the case.

According to sheriff’s officials, deputies were summoned to the emergency room at D.W. McMillan Hospital around 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, after two victims were reported to have suffered gunshot wounds.

The two adult, unnamed victims appeared to have received facial wounds as a result of the gunshots, officials said.

Information released about the incident said the shooting took place in the vicinity of U.S. 31 and Smith Road with the alleged violator identified only as a juvenile.

Those involved in the incident have given conflicting stories to investigators in the case, which means the case remains open, and under investigation.
