WSN softball goes 2-2 at Thomasville tournament Saturday

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball team went 2-2 Saturday in the Thomasville Lady Classic to improve their record to 2-4 this year.
The Lady Eagles opened the tournament with a 5-2 win over Millry before falling to Fruitdale 7-3.
W.S. Neal then defeated Millry again, 6-3, before ending their tournament with a 15-0 loss to Leroy in the semifinals.
W.S. Neal will be back in action this Friday and Saturday in Brewton as they will play in the T.R. Miller Invitational.

WSN 5, Millry 2
W.S. Neal scored four runs in the second inning and added one in the fourth while holding Millry to just two runs in the third to get their first victory of the season and in the Thomasville tournament Saturday.
Kena Ellison was 1-for-3 and Paige Grantham was 1-for-2. Anna Nelson was 1-for-2 with one run scored in the win.
Kaitlin Hadaway earned the win on the mound going four innings and allowing four hits, one walk, no earned runs and struck out 11.

Fruitdale 7, WSN 3
In game two, W.S. Neal led 3-2 after two innings before Fruitdale scored three in the third and two in the fifth to get the win 7-3.
Nelson was 1-for-1 with one walk and one run scored while Kaeli Brown was 1-for-2.
Hadaway pitched three innings and struck out five while walking three. She allowed five hits and three earned runs.
Haleigh Dubose also pitched one inning for the Lady Eagles in the loss.

WSN 6, Millry 3
Facing off against Millry for the second time, the Lady Eagles came away with a 6-3 to advance in the tournament.
W.S. Neal led 5-0 after three innings before Millry scored one in the fifth and two in the sixth. The Lady Eagles added their final run of the game in the sixth inning.
Lauren Boatwright was 1-for-4 with one run scored and Grantham was 1-for-3 with one run scored. Autumn Hinote was 1-for-4 and KeKe Floyd was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, one stolen base and one hit-by-pitch.
Hadaway pitched the complete game seven innings and struck out nine, walked three and gave up one earned run.

Leroy 15, WSN 0
In their final game of the tournament, the Lady Eagles lost to Leroy 15-0.
Leroy led 10-0 after two innings and scored three in the third and two in the fourth to get the win.
Hadaway was 1-for-1 at the plate in the loss and pitched 1 1/3 innings striking out one and walking two.
Brittany Lucas pitched 2/3 of an inning and Dubose pitched one inning.
