JDCC baseball sweeps Bishop Sunday

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team swept a conference double header Sunday at home against Bishop State to get their first conference wins of the season.
JDCC won game one 11-1 and game two 7-5 to improve to 10-11 overall and to 2-2 in conference play.
JDCC was scheduled to play at Enterprise Tuesday and will play at home Saturday against LBW. Game time is set for noon in Brewton.

JDCC 11, Bishop 1
In game one against Bishop, JDCC pounded out 12 hits and plated 11 runs while holding Bishop to one run on five hits.
In the win for the Warhawks, Brandon Blackwelder was 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI and Jordan Creel was 2-for-4 with a triple and one RBI.
Dillan Schaniel was 3-for-3 with one RBI and a double and Mark Humphreys was 2-for-3 with a double.
Brandon Ray was 2-for-2 with a triple. Trae Walsingham and Andrew Tindell had a hit and one RBI each in the win.
Corey Thompson earned the win on the mound going six innings allowing five hits, one earned run, walked three and struck out seven.

JDCC 7, Bishop 5
In game two, JDCC rallied with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to get a 7-5 win and finish off the sweep.
Bishop led JDCC 5-4 in the top of the fifth before the Warhawks scored three runs in the bottom of the inning to get the win by two.
Blackwelder was 1-for-3 with a double and Schaniel, Humphreys, Ray and Tindell all had one hit each.
Creel, Schaniel, Humphreys and Keaton Maher all had an RBI each in the win.
Tyler Howell earned the win on the mound going 3 1/3 innings allowing two hits, one earned run and struck out five.
Jeremy Barnes and John Williams also pitched for JDCC.
