TRM JV softball pounds Hillcrest

The T.R. Miller JV softball team pounded Hillcrest to sweep a doubleheader Monday at the Brewton YMCA Sports Park.
The JV Lady Tigers won game one 17-5 and took game two 24-1 to go to 2-0 to start the season. T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal were scheduled to play in a doubleheader Tuesday in Brewton.
The game was originally scheduled for Friday as part of a varsity game.

TRM JV 17, Hillcrest 5
In game one, T.R. Miller scored seven runs each in the first and second inning to win by 12 over Hillcrest.
The Lady Tigers added three runs in the third while holding Hillcrest to two runs in the first and second inning and one in the third inning.
Moriah Brundidge earned the win on the mound for T.R. Miller as she pitched the complete game walking six, allowing two hits, hit three and struck out five.
Kristen Booker, Brundidge, Jessica Allan, Kelsey Thompson, Abbie Roberts, and Leslie Holmes all had singles while Alli Taylor, Madelyn and Hannah Weaver both had two singles each.

TRM JV 24, Hillcrest 1
T.R. Miller batted around twice in the first inning and scored 17 runs to lead them to a 24-1 win over Hillcrest in game two.
T.R. Miller would later add seven runs in the second inning and hold Hillcrest to one in the third to win in three innings due to the mercy rule.
Taylor Austin earned the win on the mound for the Lady Tigers going the complete game and allowing no hits, one run, walked four and struck out six.
At the plate for T.R. Miller, the Lady Tigers pounded out 15 hits.
Erin Wade led the first inning off for the Tigers with an inside-the-park homerun and later added a single.
Austin had two singles and Bethany McDonald had a single. Krystal Bell, Molly Jackson, Madlyn Weaver, Lizzy Pollitte, Leslie Holmes, Grace Ruzic, Kailtin Smith, and Emonea Curry all had hit sand Cassie King had a four-run RBI inside-the-park homerun to help in the win.
