JDCC basketball defeats CVCC at regional tourney Thursday

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team outscored the Chattahoochee Valley Pirates 33-23 in the second half to claim a 62-53 win at the regional tournament at Shelton State.
With the win the Warhawks, who are the No. 1 seed from the South Division, improve to 19-9 overall and will play the Marion Military/Wallace State Hanceville winner Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the regional semifinals.
JDCC was outscored 30-29 in the first half before using a late run to seal the win. Sherman Presswood led JDCC with 18 points.
