Velma Ernestine Blair Hazlett

Mrs. Velma Ernestine Blair Hazlett, 89, died Monday, March 5, 2012 at her residence after a extended illness. She was a native of Belleville, and a long time resident of Castleberry. She was a member of Appleton Church of Christ and a retired seamstress from Judy Bond with 36 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ed Leigh Blair and Robert C. Hazlett; two daughters, Eva Mae Blair Varner and Shirlene Blair Jernigan; a brother, Arlton Blair; and three grandchildren, Kathy Crenshaw, Kevin Varner and Donald Ray Haveard.
She is survived by two sons, Frazier (Darlow) Blair of Middleburg, Fla., and Frederick (Bonnie) Blair of Castleberry; four daughters, Charlotte Haveard, Julie (James) Sammons, and Rachel (Dudley) Milstead, all of Castleberry, and Hazel (Edwin) Bell of Range; 37 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and 38 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 7, at 1 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Minister Clifford Dixon and Minister Jack Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow in Cooper Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
