JDCC baseball swept by Faulkner, but sweeps Huntingdon

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team recently went 2-2 in a four-game stretch to see their record improve to 16-20.
JDCC started the four-game stretch with two conference losses to Faulkner State to fall to 14-20 overall and to 4-11 in conference play. The Warhawks rebounded with two wins against Huntingdon to improve to 16-20.

Faulkner 10, JDCC 5
In their first game against Faulkner, JDCC lost 10-5.
The Sun Chiefs led JDCC 8-3 after four innings of play and added one run in the sixth and eighth innings while holding JDCC to two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Dillan Schaniel led JDCC with a 3-for-5 day at the plate with two doubles and three RBIs.
Corey Lane also had two doubles and was 2-for-4 with one RBI in the loss. Kyle Freeman was 1-for-3 with the other RBI.
Michael Yarborough took the loss on the mound going five innings and allowing eight hits, eight runs, seven earned, walked one and struck out three.
Joey Hedden also pitched the loss going four innings and allowing five hits, two runs, one earned, walked and struck out none.

Faulkner 4, JDCC 1
In game two, JDCC was held to four hits in a 4-1 loss to Faulkner.
Brandon Ray was 2-for-4 and Andrew Tindell was 2-for-3. Brandon Blackwelder had the lone RBI.
Corey Thompson took the loss on the mound going eight innings and allowed four hits, three earned runs, walked one and struck out five.

JDCC 2, Huntingdon 1
JDCC ended their three-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over Huntingdon Monday.
Nathan Edwards had an RBI in the win and Schaniel, Trae Walsingham and Tindell the JDCC’s only three hits in the win.
Jeremy Barnes and Tyler Moore combined to pitch in the win. The duo allowed six hits, one earned run, walked three and struck out six in seven innings.

JDCC 8, Huntingdon 3
In the second game of the doubleheader, JDCC finished the sweep of Huntingdon with an 8-3 win.
Stuart Todd, Dustin Bickmeyer and Danny Sellers all had two hits each in the win. Todd had three RBIs while Bickmeyer had two and Cody Brannen had one.
Edwards, Tyler Howell and John Williams all pitched and combined to go seven innings and allow six hits, one earned run, walked five and struck out eight.
