WSNMS baseball ends with a win Thursday

The W.S. Neal Middle School baseball team ended their season with a home win against Jay Thursday.
W.S. Neal defeated the Royals 6-3 to end their season with a 6-3-3 record.
In the win Thursday, W.S. Neal led Jay 2-1 after the first inning before scoring one run in the second inning and three in the third to hold a 6-1 lead after three innings. After a scoreless fourth inning for both teams, Jay rallied with two runs in the fifth to cut the lead to 6-3 but would fail to get any closer as the Eagles ended their season with a three-run win.
At the plate for W.S. Neal Middle School, Malcolm Hawthorne was 1-for-1 with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored and three stolen bases.
Bryce Booker was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and Dalton Shell was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and one run scored.
Lane Chavers, Hunter Colley and Sam Frazier also scored one run each.
On the mound, Chavers earned the win as he went the complete game five innings and allowed three runs, two earned, walked one, struck out three and allowed six hits.
