WSN softball defeats Central

Six runs in the first inning Tuesday at home along with the dominant pitching of Kaitlin Hadaway for the W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball team helped them end their four-game losing streak.
W.S. Neal scored six runs in the first to propel them to a 7-3 win over Central and improve their record to 8-9 overall.
Leading 6-0 after the first inning, W.S. Neal scored their final run of the game in the third inning to take a 7-0 lead.
Central would get one run in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings to cut the lead to 7-3, but the Lady Eagles were able to hang on for the four-run win.
Hadaway earned the win on the mound for W.S. Neal as she went seven innings and struck out 14, walked three, surrendered three runs with two being earned.
At the plate for the Lady Eagles of East Brewton, Autumn Hinote was 2-for-3 with one run scored and Kaeli Brown was 1-for-3 with two runs. KeKe Floyd was 1-for-3 with one run scored while Hadaway, Lauren Boatwright, and Anna Nelson all scored runs as well.
W.S. Neal was scheduled to play at T.R. Miller Wednesday at 4 p.m. in a varsity only game with the two JV teams playing Thursday in Brewton also at 4 p.m.
The two varsity teams will meet again Friday in the Escambia County tournament at JDCC. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
