TRM track competes at Challenge of Champions in Mobile

The T.R. Miller Tiger boys and girls track team took part in the Mobile Challenge of Champions track meet Friday at UMS-Wright.
In the girls 400-meter dash, Majestie Walker took 18th place with a time of 1:05.68 and Amber Terry placed 34th with a time of 1:09.50. In the 800-meter event, Allie Nelson placed 28th with a time of 2:42.72 while Breann Huff placed 33rd with a time of 2:48.87. In the 1600-meter run, Nelson placed 16th with a time of 5:54.67 and Katie Nelson placed 31st with a time of 6:25.24.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Amber Nelson came in 13th with a time of 17.13 and 14th in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 51.51.
In the high jump, Amber Nelson placed seventh a jump of 4-8 and in the long jump, Lateysia Montgomery placed 11th with a jump of 15-3 ¼.
Amber Nelson placed seventh in the triple jump with a jump of 32-7 ¾ and O’Nesha Hall placed 18th in the shot put with a throw of 27-6 1/4.
In the discus, Lauren Bradley placed seventh with throw of 84-11.
In the boys meet, Jamal Spears and McHenry Coleman ran in the 100-meter dash. Spears placed 33rd with a time of 11.76 and Coleman placed 36th with a time of 11.88.
In the 400-meter dash, Alec Robinson placed 61st with a time of 59.53 and Rob Stokes placed 21st in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:08.81.
In the 1600-meter run, Stokes placed eighth with a time of 4:43.82 while Ryan Snowden had a time of 5:40.96 for 46th place.
In the 110-meter hurdles, Spears placed 17th with a time of 16.96 and Ivory Miller placed 19th with a time of 17.22. Miller placed 19th in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 44.18.
T.R. Miller’s 4×100-meter relay team placed 14th with a time of 45.25. In the high jump, David Barragan placed 19th with a jump of 5-6.
In the pole vault, Nick Adams placed 14th with a vault of 10-6 while in the triple jump, Kameron Winn placed fourth with a jump of 42-6 ½.
Kameron Coleman had a jump of 35-5 ½ for 23rd place. In the javelin, Adams had a throw of 159-1 for fourth place while William Whittle placed 15th with a throw of 131-3.
In the Challenge of Champions Invite meet Saturday, Karisa Nelson placed eighth in the one-mile run with a time of 5:17.15.
