TRM softball goes 1-2 in Greenville tourney Saturday

Playing in the Greenville Tournament Saturday, the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team went 1-2 to drop their overall record to 15-9.
T.R. Miller lost 7-6 to Jeff Davis of Montgomery, 7-5 to Highland Home before beating McKenzie 13-2.
The losses for T.R. Miller was their seventh in eight games while the win was just their second in their last nine games.
The Lady Tigers were scheduled to play at Pleasant Home Tuesday and at Clarke County in an area game Thursday. T.R. Miller will play in the McGill-Toolen round robin Saturday before playing at Daphne.
T.R. Miller will return home Tuesday, April 24, for their first home game since April 5, to take on Washington County in their final regular season game of the year.
Area tournament play will begin May 1.

Jeff Davis 7, TRM 6
Leading 4-2 after the first inning, T.R. Miller was outscored 5-2 the remainder of the game to suffer a one-run loss to Jeff Davis, 7-6.
Jeff Davis scored two runs in the third inning and three in the fourth while holding T.R. Miller to two runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Laurel Billy took the loss on the mound going five innings and allowing four hits, seven runs, two earned, walked one and struck out three.
At the plate, T.R. Miller had only four hits. Leah Brundidge and Takeysia McFugerson were both 1-for-3 with at triple and one RBI.
Audrey Hamric had one RBI and Kelsey Thompson was 1-for-3 with one RBI. Billy had one RBI and Jessica Allan was 1-for-1.
T.R. Miller made eight errors in the loss.

Highland Home 7, TRM 5
In their second game of the day, T.R. Miller lost by two to Highland Home, 7-5.
Highland Home led 4-0 after the first inning and 6-0 after three innings. The Flying Squadron added one in the fourth to take a 7-0 lead before the Lady Tigers scored three in the fourth and two in the fifth to cut the lead to 7-5, but that would be as close as they could get as they took the loss.
Hamric was 1-for-3 and Brundidge was 2-for-3 at the plate. Thompson was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.
Billy took the loss on the mound going three innings and allowing three hits, six runs, two earned, walked one and struck out three.
Taylor Austin went two innings and allowed two hits, one run, none earned, walked and struck out two.
T.R. Miller made seven errors in the loss.

TRM 13, McKenzie 2
T.R. Miller got back on the winning track in their final game of the tournament as they cruised to a 13-2 win over McKenzie.
T.R. Miller scored three runs each in the first, third and fourth innings and added four in the second while holding McKenzie to two in the third to get the win by 11.
T.R. Miller had nine hits in the win including a triple from Hamric, a double by Brundidge and Hannah Weaver and two doubles from Lauren Ward.
Hamric finished 2-for-3 and two RBIs while Brundidge was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Thompson had two RBIs and Weaver was 1-for-1 with one RBI. Allan was 2-for-3 and Ward finished 2-for-2. Abbi Roberts added one RBI.
Austin earned the win on the mound going four innings and allowing two earned runs, four hits, walked three and struck out four.
T.R. Miller made only two errors in the loss.
