Katherine ‘Kitty’ Maddox Gibson

Mrs. Katherine “Kitty” Maddox Gibson, 83, died Monday, April 16, 2012 in a Century, Fla., nursing facility after a brief illness. She was a native of Brewton, and a longtime resident of East Brewton. She was a member of Dog Wood Hills Assembly of God Chruch, an active worker in the school system and a retired school bus driver from the Escambia County School System with 28 years of service. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Morgan Danielle White.
She is survived by two sons, Roland (Brenda) Gibson, Jr. of East Brewton, and Oland (Gail) Gibson of Brewton; three daughters, Linda Sue (Bobby) Edgar of Castleberry, Kathy (Elton) Madden of Brewton, and Becky (Lamar) Adkisson of East Brewton; a brother, Jimmy (Barbara) Maddox of Brewton; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 18, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Quick and the Rev. Russ McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Green Acres Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
