WSN softball beats Hillcrest 17-1

After starting 0-3 in area play, the W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball team picked up their fourth straight win Tuesday in Evergreen as they defeated Hillcrest 17-1.
With the win, W.S. Neal improved to 16-10 overall and to 4-3 in area play. The JV Lady Eagles won 18-4 but no stats were known from their win.
W.S. Neal was set to end their regular season with a home game Thursday against Hillcrest.
W.S. Neal led 4-0 after the first inning, 12-0 after the second inning, and 17-0 after the top of the fourth before Hillcrest scored their lone run in the bottom of the fourth, but the Lady Eagles won by the 15-run mercy rule after three innings.
Kaitlin Hadaway earned the win on the mound going four innings and allowing one hit, one unearned run, walked one and struck out eight.
At the plate, KeKe Floyd was 2-for-2 with a triple and scored four runs while Hadaway walked three times and scored three runs.
Paige Grantham was 1-for-3 with three runs and Lauren Boatwright was 1-for-2 with a double and two runs. Kaeli Brown also walked three times and scored two runs. Anna Nelson was 2-for-3 and Jade Danley was 1-for-3. Kena Ellison was 1-for-2 with two runs scored.
