East Brewton Thunder edges out Flomaton

The East Brewton 7/8-year-old Thunder baseball team edged out Flomaton 5-4 in their recent game to improve their record.
In the top of the first inning, Flomaton took a 4-0 lead, which would be the only runs they scored in the game.
With the score still 4-0 in the bottom of the third in favor of Flomaton, Collen Nelson and Easton Grace both hit a single and with two outs, then Dustin Godwin hit a single to drove in two runs to make the score 4-2 in favor of Flomaton with two outs.
Blake McNew then hit a single for the Thunder to put runners on first and second with two outs.
Dakota Rose then came up to bat and drove in two runs to tie the game at 4-all. In the top of the fifth inning, Flomaton had two hits and a Thunder error that the Flomaton runner never stopped until a throw to Godwin from McNew got the runner out at home to keep the game tied at four.
In the bottom of the fifth with two outs, Collen Nelson singled to drive in Langham Parr to put the Thunder up 5-4. Flomaton failed to mount any comeback in the top of the sixth as time expired with the Thunder winning 5-4.
Nelson was 2-for-3 with one RBI in the win, Grace was 3-for-3, Godwin was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, McNew was 3-for-3 with one RBI, Parr was 1-for-2 and Gavin Rose was 1-for-2 with one RBI.
