Brewton area residents will observe a time of prayer at noon Thursday in observance of the National Day of Prayer annual recognition.

The noon service will be moved from the lawn of the Escambia County Courthouse on Belleville Avenue to the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Brewton next door if the weather continues to be an issue.

Services, set to begin at noon in either location, will be lead by pastors from area churches including the Rev. Jack Fitts, the Rev. John Mathieu, the Rev. Bryan Garrett, the Rev. Michael King, the Rev. Tommy Quick, the Rev. Todd Ray and Dr. Ed Glaize.

The sanctuary of First Baptist Church will be open throughout the day until 5 p.m. to allow those who wish to spend time in prayer and opportunity to do so beyond the noon-time gathering.
