BBR Astros sweep Phillies Tuesday

In a Brewton Babe Ruth game Tuesday night in Brewton, the Astros kept the Phillies winless with a sweep.
In game one, the Astros won 9-2 and took game two 17-5 to improve their record to 5-1 this year while the Phillies fell to 0-6.
As of press time, stats from the Braves and Padres game in East Brewton Tuesday were not known.
Games will resume Thursday in Brewton and in East Brewton at 5:30 p.m. with the Astros and Braves playing at Johnson Park in East Brewton and the Padres and Phillies playing at T.R. Miller in Brewton.

Astros 9, Phillies 2
With the Astros leading 2-1 after three innings, the Phillies were outscored 7-1 in the remaining four innings to get a 9-2 win.
The Astros led 2-0 after the first inning and 2-1 after two innings before scoring four runs in the fourth inning to hold a 6-1 lead after the top of the fourth.
After the Phillies cut the lead to 6-2 in the bottom of the inning, the Astros added one in the fifth and two in the sixth while holding the Phillies scoreless the remainder of the game to win by seven.
At the plate for the Astros, Jones Manning was 2-for-4 along with Tyler Joyner who had one RBI. Dalton Shell was 2-for-2 with one RBI and Derrick Barton was 2-for-3.
Dylan Etheridge was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Lane Clark and Stokes Jennings had one RBI.
On the mound for the Astros, Elliott earned the win going 3 2/3 innings and allowed four hits, two earned runs, walked seven and struck out two.
Shell also pitched in the win and went 3 1/3 innings allowing two hits, no runs, walked one and struck out two.
For the Phillies, Jared Cooper was 1-for-2 with a double and Hunter Brittain, James Peach and Jordan Williams were all 1-for-2. Joshua Winton was 1-for-3 as well as brother Caleb Winton. Caleb Winton had one RBI.
On the mound, Cooper took the loss going seven innings and allowing nine hits and runs, eight earned, walked seven and struck out four.

Astros 17, Phillies 5
The Astros used a big first inning and a big third inning to down the Phillies by 12, 17-5 in five innings, in game two.
The Astros led the Phillies 9-4 after the first inning and 10-5 after two innings.
From there, the Astros scored seven runs in the third inning and held the Phillies scoreless in the fourth and fifth to seal the win.
For the Phillies, Tripp Floyd was 1-for-3 at the plate and Jake Najor was 1-for-2. Jared Cooper was 1-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs.
Hunter Brittain was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs while James Peach was 1-for-3.
Joshua Winton was 1-for-3 and Caleb Winton was 1-for-2.
On the mound, Peach, Joshua Winton and Caleb Winton all pitched.
Peach went 1/3 of an inning and allowed one hit, six earned run, walked three and struck out none.
Joshua Winton went 2 2/3 innings allowing six hits, 11 runs, eight earned, walked five and struck out one.
Caleb Winton went the final inning and allowed no runs, no hits, no walks and struck out none.
For the Astros, Manning was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and Elliott was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs.
Mike Williams was 1-for-2 with a double and one RBI while Tim McDonald was 1-for-2.
Tyler Joyner had one RBI along with Dakota Graves, Clark and Dylan Etheridge had two RBIs.
Barton was 2-for-2 with one RBI.
On the mound, Graves earned the win going three innings and allowing six hits, five runs, four earned, walked one and struck out one.
Stokes Jennings went two innings and allowed no runs, walked and struck out one.
