BPD: Drug arrests made

Drug activity throughout the community has kept officers with the Brewton Police Department’s narcotics division busy over the past week.
Sgt. Andrew Casey said the division had made several arrests of local residents as the result of investigations into illegal drug activity.
“We have had a busy week making five arrests,” Casey said. “We continue our fight against drugs in this community.”
Michael Darren Joyner, 37, Brewton, was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Brittany Marie Lee, 22, East Brewton, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dennis Ray Robinson, 36, East Brewton, was charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.
Anthony Levon Peterson, 41, of East Brewton was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.
Willie Earl Brazile, 31, Brewton, was arrested by officers with the Poarch Police Department on a warrant from the Brewton Police Department following an investigation by the narcotics division.
Brazile was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.
Each of the suspects was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center to be booked on the charges against them.
Joyner was released on $100,000 bond following his arrest.
Lee is being held on $5,000 and $15,000 bonds.
Robinson remains behind bars on two $100,000 bonds for the charges against him.
Both Peterson and Brazile were being held on $100,000 bond each in their cases.
