A recap of Thursday night baseball and softball games in EB

In Thursday’s Cal Ripken baseball and softball games in East Brewton, the Cardinals and Rangers earned wins while the softball Phillies and Orioles took wins.
The Cardinals defeated the Pirates 14-10 but fell earlier to Flomaton 5-2.
The Rangers took down the Brewton Angels 10-8 while the Phillies won 11-7 over the Athletics and the Orioles cruised to a 15-4 win over the Lady Canes.

Flomaton 5, Cardinals 2
Flomaton was held to one hit but came away with a 5-2 win over the Cardinals Thursday.
Flomaton’s Hunter Wilson earned the win on the mound as he allowed three hits, two runs, walked five and struck out 12.
Rowdy Rutherford had the lone Flomaton hit.
For the Cardinals, Samuel Bosarge, Josh McCall and Konner Wood pitched in the loss and allowed one hit, five runs, walked 11 and struck out 11.
Shannon Stacey had two singles for the Cardinals while Wood had a double.

Cardinals 14, Pirates 10
In a high-scoring game, the Cardinals edged out the Pirates 14-10.
Wood earned the win on the mound for the Cardinals as he allowed six hits, 10 runs, walked and struck out six.
At the plate, Wood had a single and a double, Bosarge had a single, Andrew Haymon had a single and a double, Stacey and Caleb Briggs both had a single each.
For the Pirates, Bradley Lowery, Sawyer Lewis and Issac Smith pitched in the loss giving up a combined seven hits, 14 runs, eight walks and struck out four.
Lewis had two singles at the plate while Jennings Hobbs, Smith, Paxton Scurlock, and Lowery all had singles.

Rangers 10, Brewton Angels 8
The EB Rangers came away with a 10-8 win over the Brewton Angels in 12U games.
Jacobey Hawthorne and Weston Riddle pitched the Rangers to the win as they allowed four hits, eight runs, walked eight and struck out four.
Tyler Pierce had a double and single in the win and Hawthorne had a triple.
Aaron Bosarge had a double along with Matt Hutchins who also had a single. Morgan Riley had triple in the win.
For the Angels of Brewton, Russell Smith and Matt Smith took the loss as they allowed seven hits, 10 runs, walked four and struck out three.
At the plate, Drew Williamson had two single and Todd Watson and Hayden Atkinson had a double each.

Phillies 11, Athletics 7
Despite having only hit, the Phillies defeated the Athletics 11-7 in softball action Thursday.
Dominique Jackson had the lone hit for the Phillies as she had a double. On the mound, Aleigh Lanier earned the win as she allowed five hits, seven runs, walked three and struck out five.
For the Athletics, Brea Murphy, Brianna Pugh and Lexie McNew pitched in the loss allowing a combined one hit, 11 runs, 10 walks and struck out three.
At the plate, Caitlin Hartsel had a double and a single along with McNew and Katleyn Wilson added a double.

Orioles 15, Lady Canes 4
Haleigh Dubose pitched a no-hitter as the Orioles took down the Lady Canes 15-4.
Dubose allowed four runs on four walks and struck out 12 in the win.
At the plate for the Orioles, Tori Wyatt had two singles, Erin Hartsel had a single and a double. Tiffany Richerson and Heather Redash had a single each while Dubose added a triple.
For the Canes, Megan Engle pitched and allowed seven hits, 15 runs, walked 14 and struck out one.
