Brewton Heat softball defeats Blazin’ Babes 10-8

The Brewton Heat softball team downed the Blazin’ Babes 10-8 Thursday to improve their record to 6-3.
Down 5-3 heading into the top of the fourth, the Heat scored seven runs to take a 10-5 lead and held on for the win after the Babes plated three runs of their own in the bottom of the inning.
Myra Reiss earned the win on the mound going four innings and allowing four hits, walked one and the team made four errors.
Anna Kate Brittain went four innings and allowed four hits, walked six, struck out four and the team made four errors.
For the Heat at the plate, Brionna Dees was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and scored two runs while Desiree Lambert was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and scored one run.
Reiss was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and scored two runs and Anna Grace White scored two runs.
Hannah Lisenby, Alexis King, Ladonna Washington, and Jakyra Spears all scored one run each.
For the Babes, Mallori Floyd was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and scored two runs while Morgan Longmire was 1-for-2 with one RBI and scored one run. Rudy Watson was 1-for-2 with one run scored and Gabbi Soloman, Caitlyn Smith, Malaysia Thomas, and Sarah Grace Gerety all scored one run each.
