Mrs. Sandra Gus Thomas Gibson, 64, of Jay, Fla., died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in a Pensacola hospital following a brief illness. She was a native and long-time resident of Escambia County, Alabama and a was a resident of Baldwin County for 12 years before moving to Jay two years ago. She was a 1964 graduate of W.S. Neal High School where she was the 1963 Homecoming Queen. She was a member and played piano at Elim Baptist Church andwas a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gibson Sr., her parents, Gus and Vivan Thomas; and a brother, Kenneth Thomas.

She is survived by a son, Jason Sessions of Jay; a daughter- Alesia (Jake) Gibbs of Jay; and two grandchildren, Anna Lauren Gibbs and Zachary Jake Gibbs.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, May 25 at 2 p.m. at Elim Baptist Church with Rev. Nick Gandy officiating. Burial will follow in Elim Cemetery in the Roberts Community with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
