After Thursday’s Brewton Babe Ruth games, there were no changes in the league standings as the Astros swept the Phillies and the Braves and Padres split.
The Astros remained in the top spot of the league as they improved to 10-2 with a 13-2 and 10-0 win over the Phillies. The Phillies fell to 1-11 with the losses.
In a battle of second and third place, the Braves defeated the Padres 9-3 in game one to take a two-game lead over the Padres. But in game two, the Padres edged out the Braves 5-4 to cut the deficit between the two teams to one game.
With the split Thursday, the Braves stayed in second place with a 7-5 record while the Padres stayed in third place with a 6-6 record.
Games will resume Tuesday at 5 p.m. with the Astros and Braves playing in East Brewton and the Padres and Phillies squaring off in Brewton.

Astros 13, Phillies 2
The Astros scored seven runs in the second inning to lead to a 13-2 win over the Phillies Thursday night in game one.
Leading 7-1 after two innings, the Astros plated two runs each in the third, fourth and fifth innings and held the Phillies to one run in the bottom of the fifth.
At the plate for the Astros in the win, Tyler Joyner was 1-for-4 with one RBI and Tim McDonald was 1-for-2 with a double and one RBI. Jones Manning went 1-for-3 and Taylor Elliott was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs.
Dakota Graves went 1-for-2 with one RBI and Stokes Jennings was 1-for-1.
Derrick Barton, Mike Williams and Dalton Shell had one RBI each.
Lane Clark earned the win on the mound for the Astros as he went three innings and allowed five hits, one earned run, walked and struck out none.
Jennings went the final two innings and allowed one hit, one earned run and walked one.
For the Phillies, James Peach, Jordan Williams, Caleb Winton and Ethan Bollenbacher had one hit each while Sam Frasier went 2-for-2. Winton had one RBI in the loss.
On the mound, Hunter Brittain took the loss going two innings and allowed three hits, seven runs, five earned, walked and struck out three.
Tyler Baxter went 2 1/3 innings and allowed four hits, five runs, two earned run, walked four and struck out one.
Frasier went 2/3 of an inning and allowed no hits, runs, no walks and struck out none.

Astros 10, Phillies 0
The Astros scored nine runs in the second inning and held the Phillies to only one hit in a 10-0 win.
The Astros led 1-0 after the first inning and 10-0 after two innings. Neither team scored the remainder of the game as the Astros won the game in five innings.
Frasier had the lone hit for the Phillies as he went 1-for-2.
Williams and Joshua Winton pitched in the loss and allowed 11 hits, nine runs, two earned, walked one and struck out none.
For the Astros, Joyner and Williams combined for the win on the mound as they allowed one run, walked one and struck out five.
At the plate, Joyner was 2-for-3 with one RBI and Williams was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
McDonald was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Manning was 3-for-3. Elliott was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Shell was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Jennings had one RBI.

Braves 9, Padres 3
In a battle for second place Thursday night, the Braves stayed on top of the Padres with a 9-3 win in game one.
The Braves led the Padres 4-0 after one inning, 5-0 after two innings and 6-0 after three innings before seeing the Padres plate two runs in the fourth to cut the lead to 6-2.
After a scoreless fifth inning for both teams, the Braves scored three in the sixth inning and held the Padres to one run to get the win by six.
At the plate for the Braves, Keaton Parker was 1-for-3 and Alex O’Keane was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Malcolm Hawthorne was 1-for-3 with one RBI along with Miles Powell and Robin Swift.
Jo Jo Booker went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Christian Mancil was 1-for-2 with one RBI. Austin Holmes was 1-for-1.
On the mound, Powell earned the win going five innings and allowed two hits, two earned runs, walked four and struck out 10. Todd Mayo went one inning and allowed three hits, one earned run, walked and struck out one.
For the Padres, Brooks Brown was 1-for-4 with one RBI and Colton Morris had one RBI.
Rob Jones, Chris Jones, Justin Sessions and Preston Townson had one hit in the loss.
On the mound, Chris Jones, Sessions and Christian Alvarez all pitched in the loss with Jones being the pitcher of record.
The trio allowed 11 hits in six innings, allowed nine runs, eight earned, walked five and struck out five.

Padres 5, Braves 4
Despite being out hit 4-2, the Padres won where it most counted—in the run column—as they edged out the Braves 5-4 in game two.
The Braves led 1-0 after one inning before the Padres tied the game in the third inning. After the Braves took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning, the Padres rallied with four in the fifth inning to take a 5-2 lead. The Braves would cut the lead to 5-4 in the bottom half of the inning, but neither team scored the remainder of the game as the Padres earned the win by one.
For the Padres at the plate, Sessions was 1-for-2 with three RBIs and Morris was 1-for-2 with a double.
Morris earned the win on the mound going three innings and allowing no hits, one earned run, walked two and struck out five.
Chris Jones went three innings and allowed four hits, three runs, one earned, walked one and struck out three.
For the Braves, Hunter Harp, Miles Powell, Robin Swift and Jo Jo Booker all had hits. Keaton Parker, Swift and Booker had one RBI each.
On the mound, Harp took the loss going 3 2/3 innings and allowed no hits, one unearned run, walked five and struck out three.
Powell and Mayo also pitched in the loss and they allowed two hits, four runs, none earned, walked four and struck out five.
