Summer movies continue Tuesday

The second movie provided by the City of Brewton will be held Tuesday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the Brewton Civic Center behind city hall. Although the name of the movie cannot be released, movie organizers say it is about some pirates in the Caribbean on a strange tide. It’s rated PG-13 and will run for 136 minutes.
Gary Hill, director of recreation for the City of Brewton, said the turnout was not as good as expected for the first movie last week.
“There were only 11 people who came out last week to see ‘Cowboys and Aliens’ and we need more people to come in the next few weeks,” Hill said. “Considering the movie is free and is being shown in an air-conditioned building, with bathrooms, I don’t see why more people don’t attend. The city is trying to give something back to the community and people should take advantage of this opportunity.”
Movies are being shown every Tuesday until August 7, and they are all up-to-date movies. Bring your bag of popcorn and soft drink and come on up to see the next scheduled movie. For a complete listing of the movies, see the calendar of events on Page 3 of The Brewton Standard.
