With 20 games already under their belt, the 2012 Brewton Babe Ruth teams entered the final week of the season Tuesday.
In Tuesday’s games, the Astros swept the Padres in East Brewton while the Braves and Phillies split.
The Astros won game one over the Padres 14-3 and took game two 12-7 to improve to 19-3 this season and remain in first place while the Padres fell to 9-13 and remained in third place.
In Brewton, the Braves took game one over the Phillies in five innings as they cruised to a 14-2 win.
In game two, the Phillies got a dominating performance on the mound for Jared Cooper to come away with a 6-4 to give the Phillies their fourth win of the season and third in their last six games after starting the season 0-6 and 1-15.
The Phillies remained in fourth place with a 4-18 record after the split while the Braves remained in second place with a 12-10 record.
Games are scheduled to resume Thursday–the final night of the regular season—with the Astros and Phillies playing a doubleheader in Brewton at 5 p.m. while the Braves and Padres are scheduled to play in East Brewton, also at 5 p.m.

Braves 14, Phillies 2
The Braves pounded out 16 hits and scored 14 runs as they cruised to a 12-run win over the Phillies in five innings Tuesday night in Brewton, 14-2.
The Phillies struck first in the game as they led 1-0 after the first inning. From there, the Braves would score two in the second inning and three in the third inning to take a 5-1 lead.
After the Phillies cut the lead to 5-2 heading into the fourth inning, the Braves scored seven runs in the top of the fourth and two more in the fifth and held the Phillies scoreless to get the mercy rule win.
Hunter Harp earned the win on the mound for the Braves as he went three innings and allowed three hits, two earned runs, walked five, struck out two and hit one.
Miles Powell went the final two innings and struck out four.
At the plate, Keaton Parker, Robin Swift and Austin Holmes all had a single each. Malcolm Hawthorne had three singles and Harp added two singles and one RBI.
Jo Jo Booker added a single and a double and three RBIs while Christian Mancil had a double and a single and two RBIs.
Todd Mayo had a double and two singles and one RBI while River Johnson had a double in the win.
For the Phillies, Tyler Baxter took the loss on the mound as he went three innings and allowed seven hits, nine runs, eight earned, walked three, struck out two and hit one.
Jordan Williams went the final two innings and allowed nine hits, five runs, four earned, walked none and struck out one.
At the plate, the Phillies were held to only three hits. Tripp Floyd had a single and a double in the loss while Hunter Brittain had a single and one RBI. Jake Najor added one RBI for the Phillies.

Phillies 6, Braves 4
In game two, Phillies pitcher Jared Cooper went the complete game and allowed two hits and struck out 12 as the Phillies salvaged a split with the Braves with a 6-4 win.
Cooper had a no hitter through four innings before allowing both hits in the fifth.
Cooper finished the night going all seven innings and allowing two hits, four earned runs, walked four, hit one and struck out 12.
The Phillies led the Braves 1-0 after the first inning and 2-0 after the third inning.
In the fourth, both teams plated two runs as the Phillies carried a 4-2 lead into the top of the fifth.
In the fifth, the Phillies added two more runs to increase their lead to 6-2. The Braves would add one run in the sixth and one in the seventh to cut the lead to 6-4 but failed to get any closer as the Phillies hung on for the win by two.
At the plate for the Phillies, Tripp Floyd, Jake Najor and Hunter Brittain all had singles while Najor had two RBIs, Brittain had one and Sam Frazier added one.
While Cooper had a good night on the mound for the Phillies, Brave starter Todd Mayo also had a good night despite taking the loss.
Mayo had a no hitter of his own through three innings and finished the night going five innings and allowing two hits, six earned runs, walked seven, struck out six and hit one batter.
Keaton Parker went the final two innings and allowed one hit.
For the Braves at the plate, Robin Swift and Booker had the lone hits while Mancil had one RBI.

Astros 14, Padres 3
The league-leading Astros picked up their eighth win in a row as they took down the Padres 14-3 in game one in East Brewton Tuesday night.
The Astros held the Padres to one run in the fourth inning and two in the fifth while scoring one run of their own in the first inning, three in the second, four in the third, two in the fourth and four more in the sixth inning to get the win by 11 in six innings.
Tyler Joyner earned the win on the mound and was also joined by Stokes Jennings, Tim McDonald, Taylor Elliott and Dalton Shell.
At the plate for the Astros, Joyner had two singles and a double and one RBI and Michael Williams had a double and two RBIs.
Jones Manning added a single while Elliott had a double and one RBI. Dylan Etheridge finished with a single and a double and four RBIs while Dakota Graves added two doubles and a single and one RBI. Shell finished with one RBI in the win.
For the Padres, Chris Jones took the loss on the mound. Jonathan Lucas and Christian Alvarez also pitched in the loss.
At the plate, Rob Jones and Lane Chavers had a single each while Alvarez had an RBI single.
Landon Salter added a single and Tyler Hoomes chipped in one RBI.

Astros 12, Padres 7
The Astros made it nine straight wins in game two as they finished off a sweep of the Padres with a 12-7 win in game two.
The two teams were tied at 2-all after one inning of play and 3-all after the second inning.
From there, the Astros outscored the Padres 9-4 the rest of the game to get the win.
The Astros scored three runs in the third inning, one each in the fourth and fifth, and four more in the sixth while holding the Padres to two each in the sixth and seventh innings.
For the Astros, Joyner earned the win on the mound. Williams, Jennings and Shell also pitched in the win while Chavers took the loss for the Padres. Rob Jones and Hoomes also pitched for the Padres.
At the plate for the Braves, Derrick Barton had one RBI and Joyner added a single along with Elliott.
Etheridge had a double and two RBIs while Jennings had two singles and two RBIs.
For the Padres, Rob Jones had a single along with Hoomes and Brooks Brown.
Chris Jones had one RBI while Chavers had two RBIs and a single.
Alvarez and Salter had an RBI and a single each while Preston Townsend had two singles and one RBI and Hunter Colley had two singles and one RBI.
