Shirley Ann Williamson Cotten

Mrs. Shirley Ann Williamson Cotten, 71 of Edgewood Drive, died Friday, June 22, 2012 in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital after a brief illness. She was a native of Grove Hill, a former resident of Tuskegee, and a long time resident of Brewton. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brewton, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a cheerleader spronser at T.R. Miller High School, and a retired home economics teacher from T.R. Miller High School with 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Percy Williamson and Larry Williamson; and two sisters, Judy Etheredge and Kay Williamson.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Cotten of Brewton; a son, Robbie (Margaret) Cotten of Brewton; a daughter, Kim (Wesley) Brittain of Brewton; two sisters, Betty Joe Williamson of Opelika, and Cheryl Patrick of Mendenhall, Miss.; four grandchildren, Kayla Cotten, Madison Cotten, Hunter Brittain and Anna Kate Brittain; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lois Williamson and Susan Whitfield.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 24, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Brewton with Brother John Finklea and Brother Jack Fitts officiating. Burial followed in Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
