Water quality for any community is important and Georgia-Pacific is doing their part to educate the public on that importance.

Jason Daniel, manager of public affairs at Georgia-Pacific’s  Brewton Mill recently presented a $5,000 donation to be used as sponsorship funds for the Alabama Clean Water Partnership.

Officials with ACWP say half of the donated funds will be earmarked for educational projects, workshops, meeting and travel expenses for the Conecuh-Sepulga and Blackwater CWP.

The remaining portion of the donated funds will be used to support the 2012 ACWP Annual Watershed Conference.

The sponsorship donation was presented at the July 25 meeting of the Conecuh-Sepulga and Blackwater Rivers CWP held in Atmore at the Wrangler Steakhouse and hosted by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

The Alabama Clean Water Partnership is a non profit, volunteer organization dedicated to the education, conservation, and preservation of the water quality of our valuable Alabama water resources.
