With the latest track of Tropical Storm Isaac moving more westerly, inland areas may be facing the most danger from tropical storm-force winds and heavy periods of rain.

The models from the National Hurricane Center show Escambia County in an area expected to see a 40 percent chance of experiencing tropical-storm force winds as released at 2 a.m. Monday.

Areas of Alabama are already seeing mandatory evacuations as residents in Mississippi and Louisiana prepare for the worst of the storm that should become Hurricane Isaac later today.

City and county officials will be meeting today to discuss any plans for closures of offices and/or schools throughout the Brewton and East Brewton areas.

We will be providing information here as soon as it is available.
