It was another five-set win for the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger volleyball team Thursday night at home as they hosted Flomaton in their annual “pink game.”
Up 2-0 on the Lady Hurricanes, T.R. Miller saw Flomaton tie the game at 2-2 and force a deciding fifth set. In the fifth set, T.R. Miller pulled out a 15-9 win to improve to 3-3 this season. All three wins for the Lady Tigers have been in five sets. This is the second win over Flomaton this season with the first game between the two teams also going five sets.
“I am proud of the effort,” T.R. Miller Lady Tiger head coach Greg White said. “We shot ourselves in the foot because we had a chance to win it in three, I thought. In game four, we got down 10 and I think once we got down 10, we kind of outplayed them the rest of the game. We had a chance to get back in it a little bit. I told them in the last game that they knew what they had to do. I didn’t have to tell them because they knew how hard they had to play. They kind of did and they got it done. They found a way to get it done.”
T.R. Miller won set one 25-14 and set two 26-24. In sets two and three, T.R. Miller lost 25-20 and 25-19 before winning the fifth set 15-9.
In other action Thursday in Brewton, the Brewton Middle School team made quick work of Flomaton to improve to 4-0 this season with a 2-0 win. BMS won 25-6 and 25-3.
