WSN volleyball falls to Pleasant Home

In a home match Thursday against Pleasant Home, the W.S. Neal JV and varsity teams lost while the middle school teams won.
The varsity Lady Eagles dropped to 4-5 this season while the JV fell to 3-4.
“There was a wave of emotion in our gym tonight,” W.S. Neal head coach Jeff Haney said. “Our JV did not play well. Nothing seemed to be going right and some of our players didn’t seem to have the desire to change it. It was a very disappointing JV game. The varsity game on the other hand was a constant battle until the bitter end. Our girls played so well and fought their way back after dropping a couple of sets. I am so proud of this team for their efforts in overcoming an awful couple of games last week. They have really started to gel as a team and things seem to be looking up. I give credit to the Pleasant Home players for also playing a great match. It was one of those games that you love to be a part of and everyone walked out of the gym when it was over as winners.”
W.S. Neal will play Flomaton Tuesday at W.S. Neal Middle School. Game time is set for 4 p.m. with only the middle school and JV teams playing. The varsity will be back in action Tuesday, Sept. 25 in a home tri-match against Flomaton and Jay.
