Bayside drops TRM volleyball

Both the T.R. Miller varsity and JV volleyball teams fell to 4-7 Monday after taking losses at No. 1 Bayside Academy.
The JV Lady Tigers lost to Bayside 2-0 while the varsity Lady Tigers lost 3-0.
“We played extremely hard tonight,” Lady Tiger head coach Greg White said. “Bayside is a very talented and a well-coached team and they can jump on you in a hurry. I know the scores don’t indicate it, but we really got after it. They are just a very good team and if you make any kind of mistake they will make you pay for it.”
In JV action, T.R. Miller lost set one 25-11 and set two 25-17. In set one, Becca Evans and Krystal Bell led with two service points each. In set two, Morgan Manning led with six service points.
In varsity action, T.R. Miller lost 25-9, 25-16 and 25-11.
In set one, Takeysia McFugerson and Moriah Brundidge led with three service points each. In set two, Karisa Nelson had four service points, two blocks and three kills. Abbi Roberts had three points, one block and four kills while Brundidge had three points and 10 assists.
In set three, Lauren Ward had three service points and five assists while Jessica Allan had six assists and Audrey Hamric had five digs.
T.R. Miller will be back in action Thursday at Monroe County. JV is set to begin at 4 p.m. and the varsity Lady Tigers are to begin at 5 p.m.
