WSN homecoming set for Friday

With the homecoming court in place, students and alumni will be celebrating the annual reunion event at W.S. Neal High School  Friday, Oct. 19.
With festivities planned throughout the day Friday, alumni will be the special guests on campus for the day.
An alumni reception will be held beginning at 9 a.m. in the main building of the school with an alumni pep rally presented at 10:30 a.m. in the O.C. Weaver Auditorium. During the pep rally, members of the homecoming court will be presented.
Chosen by members of the student body, court members and the homecoming queen are in place to reign over the festivities.
The 2012 W.S. Neal High School Homecoming Queen is Raven Beasley. Beasley, who is a senior, will be attended by representatives from each grade at the school.
Representing the freshman class as attendent is KeKe Floyd. Cassi Lanier is repsenting the sophomore class with Kassie Lundy representing the junior. KeKe Floyd was chosen to represent the freshman class.
In order to allow students an opportunity to attend the homecoming parade, school will be dismissed beginning at 11:40 a.m. for elementary students; 11:45 a.m. for middle school students; and noon for high school students.
Floats may begin lining up behind the school at 8 a.m., but must be in place by 12:30 p.m. prior to the 1 p.m. start of the parade. The parade route will follow Andrew Jackson Street to U.S. 29 and on to Forrest Avenue. The parade will continue along Forrest Avenue to Magnolia Super Foods where it will turn onto Snowden Street for disbanding.
The W.S. Neal Eagles will take on the Opp Bobcats in the homecoming football game with kick off set at 7 p.m.
Pre-game activities, including the crowning of the queen and presentation of the homecoming court, will begin at 6:25 p.m.
Gates to the stadium open at 5:30 p.m. with tickets available at the school office prior to game day.
