Dedications on tap in city

Two dedication ceremonies will be held on the next two Friday in Brewton by groups focusing on bringing attention to landmarks in the city.

At 9 a.m., a dedication will be held at Burnt Corn Creek Park to honor those who have made significant progress on the improvements at the park including a skate pad. A special monument will be unveiled at the ceremony open to the public.

At 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9, members of the Escambia County Historical Society will host an unveiling for a new historial marker at the former Robbins and McGowins building in downtown Brewton. The building is now occupied by Orleans Po Boys and Changing Season Florist in the space occuped by the Robbins and McGowin retail store for many years. The ceremony will be held outside the historical building and is open to the public..
