Brewton’s own Donnie and Brian Moye—a father and son team that fishes with Alabama South fishing— won the 2012 Southeast Regional over the weekend.
The duo won with a two-day total of over 26 pounds in the Mobile/Tensaw Delta.
For their first place win, they got a brand new Skeeter/Yamaha bass boat valued at $32,000 as well as some cash prizes.
The Moyes defeated all competitors by nearly five-pounds for their tournament total of 26.61.
With the win, the duo won a berth to next May’s national championship, along with a good share of Bonus Bucks.
To earn a spot in the South East Regional Championship, anglers from divisions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina had to battle their way to the top of their respective divisions through five qualifying events held this past spring and summer.
Points are awarded to the competitors according to how they place in the tournaments. Anglers also are awarded 50 extra points for attending the Friday-night meetings.
