In their final games of 2012 and their final games of the DeMarquis Besteda 2012 Christmas Tournament in Jackson Friday, the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers and the varsity Tigers both took defeats into 2013.
The Lady Tigers suffered a 56-15 loss to the Vigor Lady Wolves to see their record drop to 2-9 this season while the varsity Tigers dropped a 46-40 loss to the Satsuma Gators. The loss for the varsity Tigers was their fifth straight loss as they dropped to 1-7 this season. Both teams went winless in the Christmas tournament as the Lady Tigers lost to Davidson High School Thursday in the tournament opener 71-26 while the varsity Tigers lost to the host Jackson Aggies 81-41.
Both T.R. Miller teams, as well as the T.R. Miller Tiger B-team, will be back in action Friday, Jan. 4, at Cottage Hill. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
The game will be an area game for Lady Tigers and the varsity Tigers T.R. Miller. The Lady Tigers are currently 1-0 in area play with the win coming over W.S. Neal while the varsity Tigers are 0-1. The loss came at the hands of the Eagles of East Brewton.
Following the road game at Cottage Hill on Jan. 4, the Tigers will play at W.S. Neal on Tuesday, Jan. 8 and at Bayside Academy on Friday, Jan. 11.
The two games with the Eagles and the Admirals will also be area games for the T.R. Miller teams.
T.R. Miller will be back in action at home on Monday, Jan. 14 when they take on the Monroe County High School Tigers.
The game with Monroe County will be the second time the two teams have met in Brewton after a scheduling conflict earlier in the season moved the game to Brewton for the Tigers first game of the 2012-2013 season.
Also, the game will be the first of a four-game home stand for the Tigers in the month of January. During the four-game stretch, the Tigers will play Cottage Hill, Choctawhatchee and Bayside Academy along with Monroe County.
T.R. Miller will take on Cottage Hill in Brewton on Friday, Jan. 18 while the game with Choctawhatchee will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 22.
The game with Bayside Academy will be played on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 4:30 p.m. and will be the final home game of the season for the Tigers before ending with road games at Andalusia on Monday, Jan. 28, and at Hillcrest on Friday, Feb. 1.
The games with Bayside Academy will only see varsity girls and varsity boys playing, as the Admirals do not have a B-team.
All games are set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
