WSN Eagle hoops defeated by CHCA Warriors

All three W.S. Neal basketball teams saw their losing streaks increase Tuesday as the Eagles of East Brewton suffered losses to the Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors in their final area games of the year.
The B-team Eagles took a 67-27 loss to see their streak grow to four straight losses as they fell to 2-6 overall.
The Lady Eagles lost 67-27 as well to see their losing streak increase to 11 straight losses as they fell to 0-11 overall and finished area play with an 0-6 record.
In varsity boys action Tuesday, W.S. Neal’s losing streak increased to five straight losses, as they were defeated 69-43. The loss made W.S. Neal’s overall record fall to 3-8 and the Eagles finished 1-5 in area play.
No stats or information was known from the B-team game as of press time.
W.S. Neal will return home Friday to take on Geneva. Game time is set for 5 p.m. in East Brewton. The Eagles will play their final home game of the 2012-2013 season Tuesday, Jan. 29, when they host Northview. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
W.S. Neal will end their season with two road games at Pleasant Home and Flomaton. W.S. Neal and Pleasant Home will meet on Friday, Feb. 1 while the Eagles will travel to Flomaton for a Monday, Feb. 4 game.
Both games are set for 4:30 p.m.

CHCA 67, WSN Lady Eagles 27
The Cottage Hill Christian Academy Lady Warriors jumped out to an 18-6 lead in the first quarter over the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles and never looked back as they rolled to a 40-point.
With the Lady Eagles trailing by 12 points after quarter, CHCA cruised their way to a 22-5 scoring outbreak in the second quarter to increase their lead by 17 points and lead the Lady Eagles 40-11 at the half.
The Lady Eagles saw their offense begin to come to life in the third quarter as they poured in 15 points, but Cottage Hill kept their foot on the accelerator as they scored 18 points to increase their lead by three points and hold a 58-26 lead after three quarters.
After getting 15 points in the third quarter, CHCA held W.S. Neal to one lone point in the fourth quarter while scoring nine to help them get the win by 40 points.
KeKe Floyd led W.S. Neal with nine points in the loss.

CHCA 69, WSN varsity Eagles 43
The W.S. Neal Eagle boys basketball team scored only nine points in the first half and never recovered in a 69-43 loss to the Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors Tuesday night in Mobile in their area finale.
The Warriors raced out to a 29-3 lead in the first quarter and outscored the Eagles 15-6 to hold W.S. Neal to single digits in the first half and take a 44-9 lead at the half.
The second half was much better for the Eagles as they outscored the Warriors 34-25, but it was too little too late.
W.S. Neal outscored Cottage Hill 20-11 in the third quarter to cut the lead to 55-29 heading into the fourth. In the fourth, both teams scored 14 points each as CHCA took the win by 26 points.
Tyshawn Davis was the leading scorer for the Eagles in the loss with 21 points. Josiah Nettles followed with 13 points.
