A Repton man remains in critical condition following a Wednesday afternoon wreck on Florida 87 near County Road 399 in Santa Rosa County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol reports, David M. Kicker, 63, of Repton was driving a 2010 Ford Explorer when he swerved to avoid colliding with stopped vehicles as he traveled North on Florida 87 just after 5 p.m.

According to the report, two other vehicles, as well as Kicker, were traveling north when the two other vehicles stopped for a turning vehicle.

Reports are that Kicker’s vehicle traveled toward a ditch as he tried to avoid the collision. At that time, the left front of Kicker’s vehicle collided with the right rear of the second vehicle driving by Orion Wayne Motsco of Jay, Fla.

The impact between the two vehicles sent Motsco’s vehicle into a spin. As the car spun, it collided with the rear portion of the third vehicle driven by John P. Miller of Robertsdale.

Neither Miller nor Motsco were injured in the mishap.

After the impact, Kicker’s vehicle continued into the ditch spinning as it proceeded. With only the left front tire on the surface of the roadway, the vehicle began a barrel roll and completed one rotation in the ditch before coming to rest back on its wheels.

No information on where Kicker is being treated for the information was available Thursday.
